Not always on the photographer, we can’t do wonders, it’s the group that makes the photo interesting.

2012, my turn to rant

Happy 2013! I saw a couple of recap in my Facebook account, now its my turn to rant.

First off, thank you for the support. 2012 has been a crazy year, as mentioned in 2011, i will be reducing the number of wedding assignments. I did only half of what i had took up in 2011. Because of that, personally i feel that i am more satisfied in the quality of work produced (in my opinion lah), i feel happier and less tired in shooting weddings.

As usual, every career has its ups and downs, I did encounter a couple of unhappy clients in the process.

Shot this for Meritus group, wedding fair, unfortunately, there has been a little miscommunication between their marketing teams and our side, causing a little “out of theme” issue. Although , the incident was resolved ultimately however there has been a little unhappiness between both parties.

Lesson Leant!

><

This year, I had the opportunity to travel to the beautiful Bali to attend and shoot a wedding, thanks to my lovely friends, Bryant and Goldie, for this amazing opportunity. Bali is beautiful, will love to return in future.

Somewhere in August, I was finally accepted into ISPWP, international society of professional wedding photography, after repeated attempts. So happy!

My focus has shifted a little in 2012, I had the opportunity to took on a fair bit of corporate assignments. Naming some which are unforgettable:

Product shoot for local shoes maker.

A landscape featuring MBS, Gardens by the bay, esplanade, fullerton, CBD area for Butterscotch Creations.

National library Board, Raffles’ Letter project with Butterscotch Creations. Unforgettable because this was shot with the canon’s amazing 14mmL.

Not limiting to these, there are still a lot more and i will like to take this opportunity to say “BIG THANK YOU” to all whom has trusted us. We will continue to strive harder in year 2013.

Year 2013 will be the year which i will work more on my personal projects and at the same time produce many wedding works which i am proud to showcase.

Signing off,

Eric Tan
